LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Coplay Public Library: Don’t miss storytime March 7

Lion or lamb? The weather doesn’t matter when you’re inside the library for storytime with Miss Veronica. Storytime will be 11 a.m. March 7, 14, 21 and 28.

Children of all ages, especially those who are in preschool or home-schooled, will enjoy the companionship of other children and benefit from listening to someone read to them.

No preregistration is required.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with our free movie Saturday, set for March 16. Starting 11:30 a.m., we will be showing “The Gnome-Mobile.” “Leap Year’’ will begin 1:30 p.m.

Everyone who visits us wearing green on March 16 will receive a special treat!

A book sale and bake sale are set for 11 a.m.-4 p.m. April 5 and 6.

If you are interested in baking for the sale, please contact a board member or stop by the library.

Have you received your new library card yet? If you haven’t, come into the library and get signed up.

Eleven public libraries in Lehigh and Carbon counties will be accepting the same card. You will be able to borrow materials without getting another library card to fill your wallet. You can also request a book or other resource from one of the libraries and receive it more quickly than in the past.

To receive your new card, bring in your driver’s license or photo identification. Parents must accompany children under 18 to sign the responsibility statement. The process will take a few minutes to merge your old library cards and complete the new one, so we thank you in advance for your patience.

Coplay Borough is celebrating its 150th anniversary this year.

We would like you to help us take part in the festivities. If you have any photographs, mementos or keepsakes of Coplay, we would love to borrow them to display in the library! Anything you could tell us about the objects would also be a great help. We will display your names with the items.

If you have any items you would like us to display, please call the library or stop in.

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue will no longer be sending any tax forms to libraries, including the rent rebate form. Tax forms are available on the state website, revenue.pa.gov.

If you don’t have access to a computer or printer, we will print them for you for a small cost.

Maybe you found some books you’re ready to part with during your pre-spring cleanup or just finished a few you want to share with others. The library accepts donations throughout the year for all book sales.

For your safety, please drop them off at the circulation desk during open hours, 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Call the library at 610-262-7351 or see our website, coplaypubliclibrary.org, for donation guidelines. We no longer accept VHS tapes, encyclopedias or textbooks.
