With the kickoff of Coplay Borough’s 150th anniversary less than a month away, plans are being finalized for other celebratory events. The committee meets 7 p.m. March 7 and 21 at borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St.
There is a gala scheduled for April 6 at the American Club of Coplay pavilion, 300 Cherry St., as the opening event. Tickets are now available at the borough office.
There will be a parade May 18. Featured will be Whitehall High School’s Marching Zephyr Band; Freedom High School’s marching band, Bethlehem; and the Blue Eagle Drum and Bugle Corps, Wind Gap. There will be floats featuring youth organizations, political figures, elected officials and many local community groups.
A community picnic will be held June 15 at Saylor Park. There will be fireworks and food trucks at the event.

Whitehall-Coplay Hunger Initiative will host a cash bingo March 10 at Commitment to Family & Community, 165 Cherry St. Doors open 1 p.m., and bingo begins 2 p.m.

St. Peter Roman Catholic Church will hold a parish mission 6:30 p.m. March 10-12 at the church, 4 S. Fifth St.
Father Vincent Fortunato, with Capuchin Franciscan Friars, is the principal clergy for the special event. Fortunato, of Washington, D.C., is a preacher for parish missions and retreats and is a Missionary of Mercy.
