PA PLAYHOUSE:
The Pennsylvania Playhouse holds auditions for “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” 6 - 9 p.m. March 8, 4 - 7 p.m. March 9 and noon - 2 p.m. March 10, with callbacks 2 - 5 p.m. March 10.
Those auditioning are to prepare a music excerpt no more than one-minute long, preferably from the show, or an excerpt similar in style. Bring clearly-marked sheet music for a pianist or bring recorded accompaniment. An auxiliary cord and speakers will be provided. No a capella singing will be accepted.
All roles are open, including Narrator (female, 20s-40s); Joseph (tenor, 18-20s); Potiphar (baritone, 40s-60); Jacob (baritone, 40-plus); Mrs. Potiphar (female, spoken, 20s-30s); Butler (tenor, 20s-40s); Baker (tenor, 20s-40s); Pharoah (baritone, 30s-40s); Reuben (baritone, 30s); Brothers (Benjamin, Simeon, Levi, Napthali, Isaacar, Asher, Dan, Zebulun, Gad, Judah; late teens-30s), and Ensemble (wives, slaves, Ishmaelites, small solo lines including Girl, Camel, Sphinx and Lively Lad (13-plus).
