Upper Milford Township Supervisor Robert Sentner announced Feb. 21 that the Miller-Keystone Blood Drive Feb. 11 was successful.
Supervisor Joyce Moore, in a later interview, said the drive netted 11 pints. This successful event has encouraged the township to repeat the event, hoping to have the bloodmobile return on an eight-week cycle beginning in April, but an exact date has not been set.
“We had a good turnout,” Moore said.
The Miller-Keystone Blood Center van sets up in the parking lot at the Upper Milford Township municipal building. The drive’s donation goal was 16 pints.
Emmaus Public Library representative Lisa Martin reported the library had received many favorable comments regarding the book drop box installed at the entrance to the Upper Milford Township Municipal Building front door.
Ashley Lorah, a manager from the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, introduced herself to the board of supervisors. Lorah is the Emmaus Main Street manager and the manager of the affiliated chambers of East Penn and Western Lehigh.
The supervisors ended their short meeting after approving the purchase of a new John Deere mower for $9,940.50.
