LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. In what grade, are you currently enrolled?

A. I am currently in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite subject is science because of its applications to the real world. A combination of physics, biology and/or chemistry can answer almost any question surrounding how or why something occurs. Unlike most other subjects, science constantly changes to account for new discoveries.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. During my sophomore year, I was inducted into National Honor Society, and this year, I was awarded as a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student. I qualified for states in Future Business Leaders of America during my junior and senior year. Additionally, in softball, I was named First Team All-State during my junior year and earned league honors during my sophomore and junior years.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I am a member of Student Government Advisory, Class Advisory, National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America and the varsity field hockey and softball teams.

Q. What is your next goal after graduation?

A. I plan to attend a four-year university or college to major in biochemistry.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date has been juggling school work, sports and a social life. I constantly find myself procrastinating and waiting until the last minute to complete assignments, so staying on top of my school work and finding a balance has been the most difficult part of my school career thus far.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. Whether it be schoolwork, sports, my family or friendships, I dedicate myself to finding time for and putting effort into what matters most. I hope my classmates and teachers remember me for the dedication I put into my work, the clubs and sports in which I involved myself and the people in my life.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My family is comprised of my two parents, Michael and Colette, younger sister Riley and younger brother, Michael.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my parents for their selflessness and for always making time for me and my siblings. Whenever I needed them, they dropped everything to help me or take me where I needed to be despite how busy they were. There was never a time where I could not spot them in the crowd of a game or any other event. Over the years, they have shown me what it means to be hard working, contributing to my own work ethic. I aspire to make the same impact they have made on me on others.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. I would advise my peers to make themselves and what is most important to them their top priority. Balancing school and other activities can be overwhelming and time-consuming, so taking time to draw, workout, relax or whatever their interest may be is extremely important. Everything else works itself out.
