David C. Kirk, 70, of Emmaus, died Feb. 20, 2019, after a year long battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of Marie (Malinowski) Kirk. They were married for over 46 years. He was the son of Mary (Miklencic) Kirk and the late Dr. Chester E. Kirk.
He was educated in the East Penn School District and honorably served in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Simon Lake, Holy Loch, Scotland.
Throughout his career as a welder, he worked for Air Products, Steam Fitter’s Union and Anchor Fire and Protection.
He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and a loyal friend. He was hardworking, honorable and always available to a friend in need. Known for his storytelling, and making people laugh, nothing made him happier. He was always up for an adventure and seldom seen without a tool in his hand. There was always something to fix or build. He had an enthusiasm and love for life, always there to take care of the people he loved.
He is survived by his wife; mother; sister, Carolyn and her husband John Jones, of Emmaus; son, Neal and his wife Melissa, of Coopersburg; daughter, Nicole, of South Whitehall Township; grandchildren, Reese and Kinley. He was predeceased by his sister, Joanne Crouthamel.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 225 Elm St., Emmaus. Visitation, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 28 in the funeral home.
