Coplay: Organizations seek members

There is a call for Coplay residents to get more involved in many of the borough’s organizations.

Many of the active groups in the borough have aging membership and need residents to step up as volunteers and/or become members to help benefit the community.

Some options include the borough fire department, Coplay Sports, Coplay Lions Club, Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association, Coplay Garden Club and Commitment to Family and Community, among others.

Stanley W. Reinhard Jr. American Legion Post 426 is receptive to new members in filling slots involving color and rifle squads for special projects such as parades, Memorial Day and other important events.

Coplay Sports’ athletic programs have resurged in recent years and could use some more consistent volunteers.

Coplay Recreation and Welfare Association would like to see more residents get involved with its varied community projects such as the Halloween parade, food bank events, children’s Easter egg hunt and the Christmas tree lighting and program.
