According to information provided by Secretary Jill Seymour, Lowhill Township supervisors reviewed the East Penn Self-Storage land development plan during their Feb. 7 meeting.

The final plan for 3176 Route 100 was dated May 5, 2017, but it was revised on Oct. 29, 2018.

Board Chairman Richard Hughes made a motion to review the final plan. Vice Chairman Buddy Wessner seconded the motion.

During the review, Ryan Christman of Keystone Consulting Engineers, told the board the applicant had addressed all the outstanding issues for the land development plan.

Hughes made a motion to approve the final plan. Supervisor Robb Werley seconded it.

Wessner abstained from voting as he has a business relationship with the owner.

Township Administrator Brian Carl then discussed the results of the zoning hearing board.

Adams Outdoor Advertising was denied the challenge of Lowhill’s zoning ordinance. Also, the KOA campground was granted a variance for a single family home.

Roadmaster Joe Kalusky provided an update to the board from January and what his crew planned to do in February.

For January, they had 12 days of winter maintenance, repaired the salt spreader, did some equipment warranty work, maintenance was done on all vehicles, they painted the men’s restroom at the municipal building and obtained safety equipment for tree trimming.

In February, winter maintenance, tree trimming and painting the ladies restroom in the municipal building was planned.

The four-township Spring Clean recycling event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon April 13 at the municipal building.

Lastly, resident Larry Dorsch complimented the Lowhill road crew for a great job on snow and ice removal this year.
