Feb. 20

Emmaus Historical Society meeting 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church parish hall, 501 Chestnut Street, Emmaus. This program is the kickoff of the 2019 program and exhibit theme, “Celebrate the Celebrations.” The program is titled “The 1909 Golden Jubilee, Celebrating 50 Years of the Incorporation of Emaus” and presented by Andrew Kerstetter. It is open to the public.

Alburtis Area 55+ seniors meet noon at Church of the Good Shepherd, 135 Quarry Road, Alburtis. Event includes a pot luck luncheon and bingo. Many bus trips are planned. For more information, call 610-966-4996.

Feb. 23

The Young Musicians of the Allentown Music Club recital 1:30 p.m. at Country Meadows (Building 4). The group is open to students six through 18 who are currently studying with a private teacher and wish to showcase their talents on a musical instrument and/or voice. New members are welcome. Feb. 28

The Macungie Band is proud to announce an evening with the Heritage Brass, a pioneering symphonic brass ensemble of the United States Air Force Heritage of America Band, comprised of 10 brass players and a percussionist. The concert will be presented at Lower Macungie Middle School Auditorium, 6299 Lower Macungie Road, Macungie, 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

March 2

Free shredding event 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Quakertown Farmers Market, 201 Station Road, Quakertown in the north lot. Richter Mobile Shredding will shred your unwanted documents. There is a limit of two bags or boxes per person.

March 5

The Emmaus Garden Club will meet noon at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3002 N. Second St., Emmaus. The program will be “Live Interactive Designing” with Richard Morrissey of RichMar Florists. With 40 years’ experience, he will cover many aspects of floral design. Designs made during the presentation will be prizes. Previous recipients of RichMar designs include Elton John and Perry Como. “Journeys Through Grief” grief support program 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Emmaus Moravian Church, 146 Main St., Emmaus. The program, designed to equip participants with the tools needed for lifelong healing and understanding, continues Tuesday evenings through April 9. A “Magic and Illusion Show,” with Tom Yurasits, 2-2:45 p.m. at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center. The program will include magic, illusions, rabbits, Houdini-type escapes and tricks along with lots of audience participation – fun for the entire family. There is a charge to attend.
