LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. Who are the members of your family: parents, siblings and pets?

A. I am the daughter of Betsy and Paul Champagne, and I have an older brother named Patrick, a twin sister named Katie, two dogs, Molly and Pearl and a cat, Jack.

Q. What do you most enjoy about being a senior at Emmaus High School?

A. I enjoy having a parking permit.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. I have two favorite subjects: communications and history. I love communications because my teachers, Mrs. Kuebler and Mr. Braglio, make it really fun and it allows me to explore my creative side in school. I love history because I love learning about why things in the world are they way they are today and it shows who paved the way for the freedoms I have today.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am a member of National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society. Freshman year I was awarded the Science Leadership Award. Last year I received the Academic Excellence Award and the Most Improved Female Swimmer award.

Q. What are your favorite extracurricular activities?

A. I am a member of the EHS swimming and diving team and I love it because my teammates are my second family and it is really fun.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I will be attending Lafayette College in the fall. I plan on majoring in film and media studies and minoring in women and gender studies.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge to date is accepting that I am who I am and this might not be OK to some, but it is OK with me.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered as a person who was kind to everyone.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire my brother. When he was in high school, he had a very serious concussion that made it very hard to swim and do school work. He worked hard every day to get better and he never gave up. I admire him because watching him every day made me realize that I should never give up and work hard at everything I do no matter what the circumstances are.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Keep working at whatever you are working at and it will pay off.
