Whitehall Township Public Library: New LCLC library cards are available at Whitehall library

The library has switched over to the SPARK system, and the new library cards are now available. These cards can be used at any of the LCLC libraries: Whitehall Township Public Library, Coplay Public Library, Public Library of Catasauqua, Emmaus Public Library, Parkland Community Library, Slatington Library, Lower Macungie Public Library, Southern Lehigh Public Library, Dimmick Memorial Public Library, Lehighton Area Memorial Library and Palmerton Area Library.

The third Monday open mic and jam will be held 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18, March 18 and April 15. Thank you to Rocking the Valley Online Radio for its support.
Entertainers interested in performing three songs or a 15-minute set are asked to sign up before 6:30 p.m. Musicians, singers, poets, comedians, actors, writers and storytellers are invited to come show off your stuff, or just come and be part of the audience!

The library will be showing the PG-rated movie “A.X.L.” Feb. 19 as part of the free third Tuesday movie night program. This family film features a teen motocross enthusiast named Miles who discovers an advanced military robot dog hiding in the desert after an experiment gone wrong.

The third Tuesday movie night will be held 6 p.m. every month.

The second and fourth Tuesday adult coloring club will be held 11 a.m. year round. Anyone 18 and older is welcome to join us.
The library has some supplies but invites you to bring your own as well.

The What Are You Reading Now? book club meets 1 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
Patrons are invited to chat about whatever books they are reading at the moment - the ones you loved, the ones you hated and everything in between.

The beading club will meet 1:30 p.m. every Monday and Thursday in the reference area.

Preschool and toddler storytime registration is now open. Register on the website or at the library.
The preschool storytime is for ages 37 months to 6 years old. This program is 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and runs from March 5 to April 30. There will also be storytime 1 p.m. Wednesdays from March 6 to April 10.
The toddler storytime is for ages 12 to 36 months. This program is 10:30 a.m. Thursdays and runs from March 14 to April 25.
Parents must stay with their children.
There will not be any storytimes during National Library Week, which is April 8-13.

The theme for this year’s adult winter reading program is “Reading Cures the Winter Blues.” This program is open to anyone 18 and older. Sign up at the front desk and get your reading log and reading challenge sheet.
All you need to do is sign up with your name and phone number, keep track of all the books you read or listen to and submit the log by 5 p.m. March 23. Stop by the library and pick up a book or two.
There will be a wrap-up party 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. March 26. Any program participant who reads at least one book and returns a reading log will receive a small gift.

Don’t forget the library’s new hours: 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
