Muhlenberg College will host Pennsylvania’s first redistricting town hall to initiate a community conversation about the effects of redistricting at the local and state level.
The free event will be 6-8:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in Moyer Hall’s Miller Forum on Muhlenberg’s campus.
Expert panelists will discuss Pennsylvania’s recent redistricting and the actions that preceded the most recent legal battles, then conclude with a question-and-answer session and call to action.
Speakers and panelists include state Sen. Mike Folmer, R-48th; Congresswoman Susan Wild, D-7th; Carol Kuniholm, co-founder and chair of Fair Districts PA; former Pennsylvania state Sen. and Rep. Franklin Kury; Jill Greene, executive director of the League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania; Amanda Holt, Lehigh County commissioner; and Christopher Borick, professor of political science and director of the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion.
Simultaneously, over a dozen Pennsylvania colleges and universities will host events on their campuses, to tune in to the conversation via Muhlenberg’s video portal and discuss the impact in their home districts.
The free, live broadcast will be available through the video portal to the public as well.
