Senior center

Lehigh Valley Active Life, 1633 W Elm St., Allentown, is offering the following programs for seniors in February.

The following groups and disc jockeys will be playing oldies and requests at the Saturday and Wednesday dances, so come out and enjoy the music with your friends.

Feb. 16 – Robin and Jim

Feb. 20 – Joe holler Country and More

Feb. 23 – DJ Jerry Deane

Saturday dances will be held 7-10 p. m. and the Wednesday dance will be 1-4 p.m. in the Trexler Room. Cost per person includes light refreshments. Singles and couples welcome.

Instructor Trisha Baker will lead an arts and crafts class 9-11:30 a.m. Feb. 15, 18, 20 and 28.

Acrylic Painting led by instructor Judy Peters will be held Wednesday’s 9-11:30 a.m. until Feb. 27.

Learn how to paint beautiful acrylic landscape scenery and subjects with brush techniques on canvas.

Research your roots through Ancestry.com with Albert P. Heydt 1-4 p.m. Feb. 15 and 22.

Learn how to trace your family tree.

Bring you laptop if you have one, the center will provide laptop if you do not have one.

Instructor Dr. Charles Bonos is offering a WWII history discussion titled “Convoy PDQ17” 2–3:30 p.m. Feb. 20.

The senior center will be showing the following movies at 12:15 p.m.:

Feb. 27 - “The Leisure Seeker” about a runaway couple go on an unforgettable journey in the faithful old RV they call The Leisure Seeker, traveling from Boston to The Ernest Hemingway Home in Key West. They recapture their passion for life and their love for each other on a road trip that provides revelation and surprise right up to the very end.
