HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP: Potpie on the menu at Heidelberg Church

Labor of love! Requests for baked good donations for the Allentown Soup Kitchen are being made for Feb. 11.

Baked goods decorated for Valentine’s Day and cherry pies will be gratefully accepted and may be dropped off in Heidelberg Church’s Fellowship Hall 6-7 p.m.

According to Heidelberg Church soup kitchen Coordinator Linda Hausamann, 115 hot meals were served recently to the hungry and homeless at the soup kitchen.

The meal included chili casserole, beef and vegetable stew, mashed potatoes, garden salad, fruit and tasty chocolate desserts from faithful Heidelberg bakers.

Special thanks to the volunteers of the day: Sheri Hausman, Robin Koch, Barbara Matthias and Linda Hausamann.

The collection of tissue package donations is still ongoing as well.

Any questions or to find out more about helping at the soup kitchen, call Linda at 610-767-5281.
