UPPER AND LOWER MILFORD COLUMN
The Miller Keystone Blood Drive, scheduled to be held in Upper Milford Township Jan. 21, had to be rescheduled due to the extremely cold weather. The drive will now be held 2 to 7 p.m. Feb. 11, at the township building. Considering how cold it was last week, we hope it warms up by Feb. 11. To schedule your appointment, visit www.GIVEaPINT.org and use sponsor code #8195.
There is lots of activity going on with the Upper Milford Youth Association this year. UMYA will have its first travel softball team. The 12U girls team will compete in the Lehigh Valley Girls Softball League this spring. UMYA is excited after all these years to get this program up and running and is looking forward to seeing this team in action in the spring.
UMYA will soon be launching a new website powered by Stack Sports. This website will give UMYA and its families easier access to see schedules, rosters, import league schedules and give parents and UMYA a more streamlined registration process. It will have a much nicer (and current) look and feel and have better communication tools and options for teams and players. UMYA is running a ‘development’ site now with the travel softball program, but plans on fully rolling out the site in time for fall sports registrations June 1.
UMYA spring sports registrations are open and athletes can register online at www.umya.org. These sports include baseball, softball, T-Ball, soccer and micro soccer. For more information on each of these programs check out the T-ball and baseball pages at www.umya.org.
The Upper Milford Historical Society will meet Feb. 28 for Discovery Night in the Upper Milford Township building. Refreshments are served and everyone is welcome.
