Sheckler is participating in TV Turnoff Week, which will begin Feb. 17 and will run through Feb. 23. Students are encouraged to take part in this event and are asked not to watch any television or play any video games during this time. Instead, they are encouraged to take part in other activities or play educational games on computers, iPads or any other type of tablet.

Students who participate in TV Turnoff Week will have a special picture taken with their grade level for the yearbook.

Signed participation forms for those students who took the challenge for the week need to be returned Feb. 25.

On Feb. 17, in honor of Read Across America Week/TV Turnoff Week, all Sheckler students, along with their families, are invited for an evening of free skating at Skateaway in Whitehall from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

All Sheckler students will receive a flier that will be needed to get in.

Admission is free, but skate rental fees will apply.
