Dr. Sax: Dr. Paul Cohen of the Manhattan School of Music headlines the first Allentown Symphony Orchestra “Saxophone Festival,” Feb. 4 and 5, Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown. Area saxophone players can enhance their skills and meet other Lehigh Valley musicians. Middle school, high school and college students and adults with a minimum of three years experience are eligible. Participants must be able to learn and perform festival music and attend rehearsals and the concert. The schedule is: Feb. 4: 4:30 p.m., Middle School And High School Ensemble rehearsal; 6:30 p.m., College And Adult Ensemble rehearsal, and 8:30 p.m. All-Stars Ensemble rehearsal; Feb. 5: 4:30 p.m., Dress Rehearsal-Soundcheck; 6 p.m., Talk And Instruments Showcase, and 7 p.m., Concert. She’s an “American Girl”: “American Girl Live,” 6:30 p.m. Jan. 31, State Theatre Center For The Arts, Easton. “American Girl Live” is an all-new musical featuring original songs. The show’s story takes place during an exciting summer at sleepover camp. Bold tales of bravery and friendship come to life for some new friends.
