A Boyertown woman faces drug possession and other charges after she allegedly offered for sale various controlled substances to an uncover trooper at a dog park in the 6800 block of Goor Street, Lower Macungie Township, 12:55 p.m. Jan. 16.
According to a media release from Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Vice/Narcotics Unit, Dawn Marie Trautwein, 48, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, one count of firearms not to be carried without a license, one count of criminal use of a communications facility, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
The news release detailed the incident leading to the charges as follows:
During January, the narcotics unit was notified of an incident reported to the Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville barracks patrol unit of business cards advertising the sale of controlled substances placed on vehicles at the Lower Macungie Dog Park, 6806 Goor St., Lower Macungie Township.
An undercover trooper arranged for the controlled purchase of narcotics through the instructed means displayed on the business card. Trautwein allegedly met with an undercover trooper at which time she allegedly used marijuana in the trooper’s presence and offered various controlled substances for sale. A traffic stop was conducted on Trautwein’s vehicle after the meeting. A probable cause search allegedly produced approximately 175 grams of individual packaged marijuana in various weights and large amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC, edibles, vape devices and wax; marijuana rolls, unknown white powder substances, various capsules and pills, various paraphernalia and a loaded concealed handgun.
A 19-year-old male, of Emmaus, was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Buckeye Road, Upper Milford Township, 1:41 a.m. Dec. 29, 2018, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Nickolas Thomas Utsch, 21, of Kutztown and Amelia Ann McCarty, 24, of Mertztown, were taken into custody for allegedly receiving stolen property and other charges after Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville responded to the report of a stolen vehicle operated and occupied by a male and a female with outstanding warrants in the area of Aster Road and Buttercup Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:22 p.m. Jan. 17. Troopers located the vehicle on Trexlertown Road at Church Lane and, after an approximate three-mile vehicle pursuit and a short foot pursuit, took Utsch and McCarty into custody, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
Three people broke the front door glass at Blackmans Cycle Center, 4911 Buckeye Road, Upper Milford Township, 5:20 a.m. Jan. 3 and removed a yellow 2018 Suzuki DRZ-125 dirt bike. An unknown person forced entry into a residence in the 7000 block of Buttercup Road, Lower Macungie Township, between 1 and 3 a.m. Jan. 10. The unknown person or persons broke glass on the front door to gain entry, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
An adult male wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt and light-colored pants was seen attempting to break into vehicles parked outside residences in the 1900 block of Winthrop Way and the 2000 block of Pembroke Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 2:54 a.m. Jan. 17. Mitchell Edward Reinhart, 45, of Macungie, was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after an alleged hit and run crash along Willow Lane at Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, 1:33 p.m. Dec. 9, 2018, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
Debra Jean Markovich, 63, of Allentown, was taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop on Mill Creek Road at Lower Macungie Road, Lower Macungie Township, 8:27 p.m. Dec. 16, 2018, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 19-year-old male, of Allentown, is suspected of driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Hamilton Boulevard at Shepherd Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 1:51 a.m. Jan. 1.
Derek Anthony Smith, 30, of Macungie, was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop in the area of East Texas Road and Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 3:11 a.m. Dec. 30, 2018, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 57-year-old female, of Quakertown, was charged with retail theft after she failed to pay for $19.96 in merchandise at Giant Food Stores, 7150 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 11:53 a.m. Dec. 28, 2018.
Katherine Santiago Perez, 28, of Allentown, was charged with retail theft after she allegedly removed $142 in merchandise from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 5:15 p.m. Jan. 5, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
A 17-year-old male is suspected in a retail theft at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, Nov. 18, 2018. According to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, the teen removed merchandise valued at $68.64. The incident was reported Dec. 14, 2018.
A 51-year-old male, of Emmaus, was cited for retail theft after he was observed unpacking and concealing numerous electronic items on his person at Kohl’s, 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, 12:25 p.m. Nov. 28, 2018. The man exited the store and fled the scene. According to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville, the suspect was later identified. The total loss was valued at $89.97 and was reported to police Dec. 6, 2018.
Student Transportation of America, in the 3000 block of Route 100, Lower Macungie Township, allegedly had four false alarms in a 12-month period as of Dec. 23, 2018, according to Pennsylvania State Police Fogelsville.
