JEFFERSON ELEMENTARY

In a media release, school officials announced Jefferson Elementary School was on lockdown from approximately 3:15 to 4:07 p.m. Jan. 24 after the building administrator was notified of a bullet found on school property.

This incident was immediately reported to local law enforcement.

After an investigation by police and the district administration, it was determined a student brought the bullet to school. There was no weapon on school property. The school was deemed safe by police and students were dismissed for the day, according to the media release.

Local police determined there is no threat to student and staff safety.

Students were expected to return to school Jan. 25.
