Whitehall Township Public Library: Whitehall Township Public Library joins new LCLC group
As of Feb. 4, Whitehall Township Public Library will become part of the new Lehigh-Carbon Library Cooperative.
This SPARK project has been in the works since October 2016, and we are proud to offer all of these new resources and services to our patrons.
All patrons will receive a new library card that can be used at any of the LCLC libraries: Whitehall Township Public Library, Coplay Public Library, Public Library of Catasauqua, Emmaus Public Library, Lower Macungie Public Library, Parkland Community Library, Slatington Library, Southern Lehigh Public Library, Dimmick Memorial Public Library, Lehighton Area Memorial Library and Palmerton Area Library.
More information can be found at the circulation desk and on the website. We will be happy to answer any and all of the questions you may have about the new system.

There is still time to sign up for the adult winter reading program. The theme this year is “Reading Cures the Winter Blues.” Stop by the library, see the display and pick up a book or two.
All you need to do is sign up with your name and phone number, keep track of all the books you read or listen to and submit the log by 5 p.m. March 23.
This program is open to anyone 18 years old and older.
There will be a wrap-up party 1 p.m. or 6 p.m. March 26. At the wrap-up party, a small gift will be given to any program participant who reads at least one book.

The first Tuesday Creation Station program will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 5 and March 5.
Children of all ages are invited for a variety of building fun. Construction play teaches children to solve problems, connect socially, understand and be inquisitive in their play. Playing with no specific set purpose or limitations allows children to use the full force of their imaginations.

The Friends of the Whitehall Township Public Library invites the public to attend its regularly scheduled meetings 10 a.m. the second Friday of each month, except December, in the library’s community room. The next meeting is Feb. 8.
You can join the Friends of the Library and help support the library programs. You can get an application at the desk or our website.
All money raised from the Friends’ year-round book sale is used to help the programming and resources at the library. Thank you for your support.

The library will help collect items for Whitehall-Coplay School District students to be used in the Snack Pack Pals program.
The packs of food are gathered and packed for kids who are in the most need of nutritious foods to alleviate severe hunger needs during long weekends when free breakfast and lunch are not available at the school.

Don’t forget the new library hours are 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Stop by and pick up a new magnet with the hours.
