Coplay: Snow removal went smoothly

Borough officials appreciate the work done by snow removal personnel and thank the residents of Coplay for aiding in the snow removal.

The cooperation from residents in keeping cars and trucks off the roads is essential to aiding the public works personnel in plowing throughout the borough.

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association has held its election of officers.

Rick Hess will serve as president with Bob Hauke as vice president. Faye Schreiner is treasurer, and Andrea Frisch is secretary.

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association reported the 2018 fund drive raised $6,359.

The yearly campaign funds the community Halloween parade, Christmas tree lighting and program, food bank, two holiday dinners for the food pantry family recipients, school bags and supplies and the Easter egg hunt.

Responding to a reader’s inquiry, the Coplay High School reunions for graduates ended years ago.

The program has been amalgamated with the 50-year graduation mark and is held in conjunction with Whitehall High School’s commencement exercises in June.
