UPPER MACUNGIE: Story times, games and more offered by Parkland Library
Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township, will be offering baby story time with picture books, rhymes and songs for children age birth to 2 years old 10:30 a.m. Jan. 21 and 28.
A caregiver must attend with each child.
Preschool story time for children ages 3-5 is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 23, 24, 30 and 31.
A caregiver must remain in the library.
Toddler story time with stories, songs and rhymes for kids 18 months to 3 years old will be presented 10:30 a.m. Jan. 22, 23, 29 and 30.
Play bridge, pinochle, canasta or chess at the library’s Games We Love program 1 p.m. Jan. 18.
The library staff will provide the games.
The movie “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” will be shown during Brown Bag Classics 1 p.m. Jan. 21.
Bring lunch. Beverages will be provided.
Discover the basics of playing the ukulele, including how to strum and finger pick 1 p.m. Jan. 21 at Independence Park, 150 Independence Road, Breinigsville.
This event is for kids in fourth grade and up and adults.
The library in partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts is hosting a Simple Gifts concert 2:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at Independence Park.
Join Tricia Shimkus to learn ways to become better at work, in relationships, and at home during her Tricia Talks: Transformation Tuesdays 7 p.m. Jan. 22.
Unleash your creativity and learn how to decrease stress at the Joy of Coloring class for adults 3 p.m. Jan. 23.
The library staff will provide the coloring pages, pencils and free snacks.
Join the library’s knitting and crocheting circle 2-4 p.m. Jan. 24.
Bring knitting materials and spend an afternoon swapping knitting and crocheting tips and tricks.
The library will be offering a Teen Stranger Things Escape Room for kids in grades six through 12 from noon to 3 p.m. Jan. 26.
Explore an uncommon approach to financial decision making at the Living Balance Wealth Steps Workshop presented by Independence Planning Group 6:30 p.m. Jan. 31.
All these programs are free and will be presented at the library except the ukulele class and the Simple Gifts concert.
Registration is needed to attend the preschool and toddler story times, Games We Love, Tricia Talks, Escape Room, ukulele class, concert, workshop and the movie.

Upper Macungie Township is offering pickup volleyball until April 30 for participants age 14 and older 8-10 p.m. Tuesdays at Fogelsville Elementary School, 3125 Route 100, Fogelsville.
All levels are welcome to participate.
