State Police Troop M, Fogelsville, say Michael E. Kline, 22, of Allentown, was operating a 2009 Honda CBR600RR motorcycle 4:23 p.m. Jan. 1, southbound along Sell Road, Lowhill Township, when he apparently failed to negotiate a curve at 5430 Sell Road.
According to police, Kline was approaching a left curve at a speed reportedly too great for conditions.
While negotiating the curve, the motorcycle lost traction with the asphalt and exited the right side of the roadway.
Kline fell off the bike and both he and the bike came to a final rest off the right side of Sell Road in a wooded area, police say.
Kline, who was wearing a motorcycle helmet, suffered injuries and transported by Northern Valley EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, for further treatment.
He was cited with numerous traffic-related offenses, police say.
The bike sustained disabling damage to the front and left side and was removed by Getz Towing.
