SALISBURY TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

At their first meeting of 2019, Salisbury Township commissioners approved appointments and reappointments to township boards.

In separate unanimous 5-0 votes at the Jan. 10 meeting, commissioners approved:

•James “Jimmy” Brown, township planning commission, reappointed to a four-year term representing the Fifth Ward, nominated by Commissioner Joanne Ackerman and seconded by board of commissioners President Robert Martucci Jr.

•Atty. Kent Herman, Zoning Hearing Board, reappointed to a five-year term representing the Fifth Ward, nominated by Ackerman and seconded by Commissioner Rodney Conn.

•Kimberly Ringhofer, Recreation Advisory Committee, reappointed to a five-year term, representing the First Ward, nominated by Martucci and seconded by board of commissioners Vice President Debra Brinton.

•Patrick Jacoby, Recreation Advisory Committee, reappointed to a five-year term, representing the Third Ward, nominated by Brinton and seconded by Commissioner James Seagreaves.

•Dan Moyer, Vacancy Board, reappointed to a one-year term by Martucci and seconded by Conn.

•Joseph Klocek, Building Code Board of Appeals, appointed to a five-year term, representing the Second Ward, nominated by Conn and seconded by Seagreaves. Klocek suceeds Jessica Klocek, his wife, who stepped down but continues to serve on the planning commission.

•John Barbaz, Environmental Advisory Council, appointed to a three-year term, representing the First Ward, nominated by Martucci and seconded by Seagreaves. Barbaz succeeds Karen El-Chaar, who stepped down after being confirmed Oct. 3, 2018, by Allentown City Council as director of the Allentown Parks and Recreation Department.

In other business at the Jan. 10 meeting, township commissioners voted 5-0 to approve Payment No. 5 of $35,722.80 to Kobalt Construction, Inc., for Lindberg Park Phase 3 work. Conn made the motion, seconded by Seagreaves. Prior to the vote, Salisbury Township Manager Cathy Bonaskiewich said the payment was for footer and foundation work at the park’s new restroom building.

The township commissioners are scheduled to meet 7 p.m. Jan. 24 in the municipal building, 2900 S. Pike Ave.

The 7 p.m. Jan. 19, township EAC meeting was canceled. The EAC is scheduled to meet 7 p. m. Feb. 20 in the municipal building.

The 7:30 p.m. Jan. 8 township planning commission meeting was canceled. The planning commission is scheduled to meet 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in the municipal building.

The Jan. 2 township Zoning Hearing Board meeting was canceled. The zoning board is scheduled to meet 7 p.m. Feb. 5 in the municipal building.
