Officers seek suspect in theft of cellphones

STATE POLICE

Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a male who allegedly stole iPhones from the AT&T store, 1874 Airport Road, Han- over Township, Lehigh County.

According to the report, the suspect entered the store approximately 2:40 p.m. Jan. 10 and, in full view of the employees, used pliers to remove four display-model phones, valued at $8,000, from the rack. When confronted by the employees, the suspect said he needed bail money for his brother and then fled the store on foot.

Police said a similar theft, allegedly involving the same suspect, occurred at an AT&T store in East Greenville, Montgomery County, less than an hour earlier. In that theft, he was seen driving a gray Audi, with a white out-of-state tag that had 700 as the last digits.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his 20s, standing about 6 feet, 1 inch to 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighing 185 pounds. He was wearing a black winter hat and jacket, blue jeans and yellow sneakers. He has a tattoo on his neck, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Barton Josefowicz at 610-807-3359 and reference PA2019 40122.
