With the borough’s 150th anniversary this year, the committee is busy planning the finishing touches for the celebration. The committee meets 7 p.m. Jan. 17 in council chambers at borough hall, 98 S. Fourth St.

There is an opening banquet scheduled in April to kick off the celebration. Other events are being planned to commemorate the borough’s anniversary.

The final day for Christmas tree pickup is Jan. 18.

Commitment to Family and Community has an all-you-can-eat breakfast 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 20 at its 165 Cherry St. location.

The breakfast is open to the public.

Coplay American Legion baseball committee meets 2 p.m. Jan. 20 at Stanley W. Reinhard Jr. American Legion Post 426, 131 N. Eighth St.

Coplay Lions Club meets 7:15 p.m. Jan. 21 at Coplay Saengerbund, 205 S. Fifth St.

The club is also hosting its 32nd annual Super Bowl breakfast buffet 8 a.m.-noon Feb. 3. There is a cost. Children under age 5 eat for free.

American Club of Coplay is finalizing plans for a major event held at the pavilion in March.

Reports state the live entertainment will be a tribute to Frank Sinatra and Paul McCartney, of the Beatles.
