STUDENT PROFILE by Julie SWan - Jayden Browne, L. V. Charter HS for the Arts
Grade: 12
Family members: Jen (mom), Sean (dad), Spencer (brother)
Favorite subject: My favorite subject is music, of course! I’m fortunate enough to get to do music for three hours a day in school and I’m so grateful for every minute of it. Doing what I love with students and faculty I love every day is such a blessing.
Activities: Member of 2018 PMEA District 10 Chorus, 2018 PMEA Region 5 Chorus, Lehigh Valley Charter HS for the Arts Touring Choir, Charts Singers, Penn Legacy soccer, as well as National Honor Society
Next steps: After high school I plan to attend a four-year college/conservatory and major in music.
Career goals: In the future I hope to become a choir conductor at a prestigious university.
Heroes: My biggest hero and role model is my dad. He is the man I strive to be like every day. He’s always been so supportive and loving and I can’t imagine my life without him. I hope I can be just like him when I’m older.
Hobbies: In my spare time I enjoy playing soccer, traveling and learning to play new instruments (piano, harp, bass guitar and ukulele). I am also learning to juggle.
Current job(s): I was the music director for the second stage production of “The Last Five Years.” The show was November 7-11 in the Black Box Theatre at my school.
Volunteer/community work: My community focus is homelessness. I have volunteered at the Winter Women’s Shelter in Lancaster and served meals at Water Street Mission.
Likes: My biggest like is choir. I love choir with my whole heart and I’m a huge believer that choir makes the world a better and happier place.
Dislikes: I am not a fan of the two-hour commute to and from school.
Greatest accomplishment (so far): My greatest accomplishment has been founding and conducting Charts Singers, an elite group of talented students that started as a singing club at school. We perform throughout the Lehigh Valley and we hope you’ll consider us for your next event!
Advice for peers: Do what you love and love what you do.
