Rep. Schlossberg begins fourth term in office

State Rep. Mike Schlossberg, D-132nd, took the oath of office Jan. 1 to begin his fourth term representing the 132nd Legislative District.

“I am honored to again represent the 132nd Legislative District in the General Assembly,” Schlossberg said. “I look forward to continuing to fight for the issues important to Allentown and South Whitehall so we can build a stronger Pennsylvania.”

The state House of Representatives swearing-in corresponds with the first Tuesday in January, taking place every two years.

The ceremony marked the beginning of the 203rd legislative session.

Schlossberg said his legislative priorities include building a strong economy with jobs that pay fair wages, fighting for community schools so that the quality of education any child receives is not dependent on their Zip code and supporting efforts to improve mental health services and dismantling stigmas that prevent people from pursuing the help they need.

“As we begin this new legislative session, we must work across the aisle to come to do the difficult work Pennsylvanians expect of us, not simply catering to special interest groups,” Schlossberg said. “I will continue to work toward viable solutions to our state’s issues and fight to protect what’s important to the people I am honored to represent.”

Schlossberg’s district office, which is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, is located at 2030 W. Tilghman St., Allentown, and can be reached at 610-821-5577.
