McNeill sworn in as state legislator

State Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-133rd, took the oath of office Jan. 1 to begin her first full term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, where she will continue to represent the 133rd Legislative District.

“I am excited to get back to Harrisburg and continue representing the great communities that make up the 133rd Legislative District,” McNeill said. “My team and I are dedicated to helping constituents access state programs and advocating for legislation that benefits families living both in Lehigh County and across the state.”

McNeill said she plans to continue her legislative focus on issues such as fighting for policies that benefit working-class families, addressing the opioid crisis, protecting the rights of those with physical and mental challenges, addressing high property taxes, keeping seniors in their homes and other initiatives that better the lives of the residents of the 133rd district, as well as those across the commonwealth.

“I’m proud to work with members of both parties to continue moving Pennsylvania forward,” McNeill said. “When we come together and address issues that impact us all, we create a fairer, more productive Pennsylvania for our communities and for future generations.”

McNeill was first elected to serve the 133rd district in December of 2017, succeeding her late husband, state Rep. Daniel McNeill and finishing out his term. She had previously been employed by Carbon-Lehigh Intermediate Unit as a skills trainer teaching job skills, independence and life skills to young adults with disabilities.

McNeill invites constituents to visit her district office at 1080 Schadt Ave., Whitehall. The office can also be reached at 610-266-1273. Her staff is available to help with a wide range of state-related issues, including property tax/rent rebate program applications, veteran services and more.
