LEHIGH COUNTY

In December 2018, Lehigh County Controller Glenn Eckhart, was officially appointed to serve on the executive board of the Pennsylvania State Association of Elected County Officials.

PSAECO is a critical statewide organization helping to shape the legislative agenda in Harrisburg as it pertains to counties throughout the commonwealth.

Eckhart, who has been a member of the organization for a year, was initially appointed to serve as a representative from the Pennsylvania State Association of County Controllers. Eckhart was appointed by Schuylkill County Controller Christie Joy who was then president of PSACC.

Jeffery Balzer, of Westmoreland County, appointed Eckhart to another one-year term as he became president of PSACC.

“It’s a tremendous honor to represent Lehigh County on the executive board of this immensely important organization,” Eckhart stated in a recent media release.

“I look forward to advocating for legislation that positively impacts our county and ensuring that Harrisburg does everything it can to enable county officials to do their jobs and serve their constituents. At the end of the day, I’m committed to serving the people of Lehigh and making sure they have the best services and most the effective government,” Eckhart stated.

Eckhart had agreed to serve on the executive board after incoming President Donald Petrille, of Bucks County, was nominated to lead PSAECO in 2019. Donald Petrille is the Bucks County Register of Wills.

PSAECO’s official mission statement is to “bring closer cooperation with the associations of the various county officials for the general benefit and mutual welfare of the member organizations and the public whom we serve.”
