Recording Fusion: The Fusion Jazz Trio returns for “Jazz Upstairs,” 7:30 p.m. Jan. 11, Rodale Community Room, Miller Symphony Hall. Bring your applause. The Fusion Jazz Trio will record the concert for a new CD, “Out of the Shadows.” The Fusion Jazz Trio, Vernon Mobley, drums; Brian Bortz, bass, and George Grund, keyboards, will be joined by Joe Mixon, guitar, and Chet Brown, vocals. Godfrey’s debut: Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters make their debut, 7 p.m. Jan. 13, at Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem. The songs on the group’s third and latest album, “Amanda Anne Platt & The Honeycutters,” blend the band’s old-school country roots with folk and rock. The group’s previous albums, “On The Ropes” (2016) and “Me Oh My” (2015), landed the group on NPR’s World Cafe’s “Sense of Place,” NPR’s “Mountain Stage” and Nashville’s “Music City Roots.” Performing with Platt, vocals, guitar, are Matt Smith, pedal-steel guitar, Stratocaster guitar; Evan Martin, keyboards, Telecaster guitar; Rick Cooper, bass, and Josh Milligan, drums. Burns, baby, Burns: “Robert Burns: A Scottish Music Celebration,” 8 p.m. Jan. 12, Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem, brings Lehigh Valley musicians and guests to the stage to celebrate the songs, poetry and spirit of Scotland’s favorite poet, Robert Burns. Performers include those from area groups, Blackwater, Piper’s Request, Banna Lach, as well as Alison and Tom Gillespie, Pam Kalapay, Terry Hartzell, Rick Weaver and Fred Gilmartin.
