Northampton: Local author’s work included in Golden Globes gift bags

Congratulations to Northampton-based writer Suzanne Mattaboni, whose short story was included in an anthology that was placed in gift bags to 50 nominees and presenters of the Jan. 6 Golden Globes.

Mattaboni’s piece, “Dawning,” is a coming-of-age story aimed at young women struggling to establish adult careers. The story was nominated for a Pushcart Prize earlier this year. The anthology is available from Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Kindle, Book Soup, IndieBound.org and directly from Running Wild Press.

Mattaboni has received recognition and awards from literary sources including Writer’s Digest, Seventeen magazine, Gotham Writers and the New Millennium literary magazine. Her work has appeared in the Huffington Post, Guideposts and the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. She is a former community service and education reporter for Newsday.
