District News: Spirit day is planned at Gockley Elementary School
There will be a spirit day at Gockley Elementary School Jan. 16. The theme is “snowman day.”
Show your school spirit this month by wearing any clothing item that represents a snowman - “Brrrrr!”

The second marking period will end Jan. 18. Parents/guardians are reminded to check the parental portals for the latest information, including monthly newsletters, and for access to your child’s report card for the rest of the school year.
Report cards for the second marking period will be sent electronically Jan. 28. Be sure the school has your correct email address to receive your child’s report card and important reminders.

Mark your calendar: There is no school Jan. 21 in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Kindergarten information night will be held 6:30 p.m. Jan. 23. Parents/guardians of all kindergarten-aged children (5 years old by Aug. 31) who will be enrolling for the 2019-20 school year are invited to attend this informational evening.
Parents will have the opportunity to learn about a typical kindergarten day, enrollment procedures, transportation and curriculum and tour the kindergarten classrooms and school. Staff and administrators will be available for questions.
More information will be sent home with students.
Snow date is Jan. 24.

There will be no school for students Jan. 25. This is a professional development day for teachers.

In the event of a two-hour delay, students may not be dropped off prior to delay time since school personnel also have a change in report times. In the event of an early dismissal, parents who pick up students should report to the school by the modified dismissal time.
