Camel back: Follow the star, and the camel, to Bethlehem for “El Dia de los Reyes” (“The Three Kings Day”), 3-6 p.m. Jan. 6, ArtsQuest Center, SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. The event is free and open to the public. New for 2019, “Three Kings Day” features Einstein “The Snow Camel” from Peaceable Kingdom Petting Zoo, Perkasie. Einstein went viral after spotted with his handler in a Lehigh Valley region snowstorm in November. He’s at SteelStacks, 3-5 p.m. Jan. 6. Those portraying Gaspar, Melchior and Balthazar present gifts donated by PPL Corp., B. Braun Medical Inc. and Walgreens, 17th Street, Allentown, to children ages 10 and younger. The Three Kings story is read in Spanish and English by La Mega Radio hosts Victor Martinez and Alfa Lopez. There’s a scavenger hunt, crafts and music by area Latin group Herencia Jibara. At Godfrey’s: Ward Hayden & The Outliers, are in concert, 8 p.m. Jan. 4, and Jim Weider & Project Percolator are in concert, 8 p.m. Jan. 5, all at Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem. Ward Hayden and The Outliers (formerly Girls Guns & Glory) was described by Rolling Stone magazine as “Modern-day Buddy Holly plus Dwight Yoakam divided by the Mavericks.” The group was named Boston Music Awards’ 2011 “Americana Artist of the Year.” The quartet. making music for more than a decade, has recorded six studio albums, a live album and an EP, “Can’t Judge A Book,” released in September 2018. Weider, who played with a version of The Band, on Fender Telecaster electric guitar, and Jesse Gress, guitar (Todd Rundgren Band); Adam Minkoff, bass, and Rodney Holmes, drums, blend rock and blues with funk and jazz. CD release concert: Katherine Rondeau will present a CD release concert, 4 p.m. Jan. 6, Godfrey Daniels, Bethlehem. Rondeau is a singer-songwriter selected in 2018 as a Falcon Ridge Folk Festival “Grassy Hill Emerging Artist” and a 2017 Northeast Regional Folk Alliance “Folk DJ Showcase Performer.” “With her powerhouse vocals leading the way, Katherine Rondeau delivers a rootsy performance that harkens back to the best of the Folk Revival with a modern style,” stated Ron Olesko of WFDU-FM, Teaneck, N.J. In addition to Godfrey’s, she’s performed at the Hurdy Gurdy Folk Club, the Folk Project, World Cafe Live, Spring Gulch Folk Festival, Burlap and Bean, and is a four-time Philadelphia Folk Festival performer.
