Jan. 8

Members of the Parkland Art League meeting will meet 7 p.m. at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 6667 Lower Macungie Road. Guest artist Elena Shackleton will present a demonstration in watercolor.

The Crazy Quilters Quilt Guild will meet 7 p.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church, 3022 N. 2nd St., Emmaus.

This meeting will feature the guild’s annual quilt challenge, “Panel Play,” a friendly competition among members to design a winning quilted item from a fabric panel.

Entries will be displayed and guild members will vote for their favorites. Entrants will then discuss their inspiration and techniques before the winner is announced.

Kids craft cleanup at the Lower Macungie Township Library 10 a.m. to noon for children two and up with adult supervision.

Jan. 14

The League of Women Voters of Lehigh County will present Professor Dr. Kellen Gracey speaking about “Electoral College and Electoral Reform,”at its Hot Topics Luncheon. Gracey joined the DeSales political science faculty after receiving his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. His research interests include religion and politics, electoral systems and political behavior in both American and comparative contexts. The public is invited. The luncheon will be held 11:30 a.m. in the banquet room at the Superior Restaurant, 102 State Road, Emmaus. If you need assistance using the stairs, we will help you.
