Fire Chief Peter Christ reported to Lynn Township supervisors Dec. 13 firefighters responded to 180 calls as of the board’s meeting.

A sign is needed on the new building and some minor items need to be dealt with.

Cetronia Ambulance Corps personnel and equipment should be in by Jan. 1, 2019.

In other matters, the Gerhard plan was shown to the board by Scott Dietrich.

The subdivision is in Weisenberg Township but the entire tract straddles municipal boundaries.

Supervisors deferred the plan to Weisenberg Township for review.

Roadmaster Bruce Raber reported to the board the road crew plowed snow, cleaned equipment and repaired some, replaced signs and additional usual jobs.

Raber stated he was still looking for a truck. He found a 2005 Mack in Maryland that seems to fit the requirements and he was authorized to purchase it if it met the standards for what they needed.

He will visit the dealer and, if available, is authorized to purchase the vehicle for not more than $44,900.

Secretary Kathy Hermany noted there would be a yard sale on Ontelaunee Park the last Saturday in April 2019.

Supervisors adopted the 2019 contract with the Sanctuary at Haafsville. They will pick up stray cats and dogs at $5 per cat and $10 per dog to a maximum of $700.

Auditors are needed on the township’s auditing board. Several suggestions were put forward but no one was appointed.

With the recent resignation of David Najarian, and a previous vacancy, the only member is David Glasser.

The annual township appreciation dinner will be 6 p.m. Feb. 9, 2019, at the New Tripoli Fire Company.

Jan Sutermeister presented her case as to why there should be a swimming pool in the area. A small slideshow was given to reinforce her cause.

Supervisor Steve Feinour mentioned the problem with the sewer plant and the infiltration in the system.

He noted stormwater from the roofing at Northwestern schools runs into the sewer system and is raising the amount of sewage that must be treated.

Feinour said this has been brought to the school district’s attention several times but nothing has been done.

He urged the Lehigh County Authority to take some action but said he “won’t expect much.”

The board’s closeout meeting is 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 27. Supervisors reorganization meeting will be 6:30 p.m. Jan. 7, 2019, and the auditors will reorganize 7 p.m. Jan. 8.
