NASD school board approves two borough library trustees
Two trustees for Northampton Area Public Library’s board have been approved by Northampton Area School District Board of Education.
School directors voted unanimously 9-0 at the Dec. 17 meeting to approve, at the recommendation of the NASD administration, the appointment of Daniel Belletti, of Walnutport, and Jane Yagerhofer, of Bath, each to terms from Jan. 1, 2019, to Dec. 31, 2021.
In other business at the Dec. 17 meeting, school directors voted 9-0 to approve:
Marisa Graver, kindergarten teacher, Lehigh Elementary School, effective Jan. 16, 2019, for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year, pending receipt of Pennsylvania certification, at $54,703, pro-rated
Extension of Amy Wieller’s employment as long-term substitute music teacher, George Wolf Elementary School, effective retroactive to Sept. 7 through Feb. 1, 2019, at $274.23 per diem, with no benefits
Extension of employment of LaRea Henninger, library instructional assistant, Northampton Area Middle School, effective at the start of the second semester of the 2018-19 school year, at a salary in accordance with ESPA agreement
Jessica Lopez, special education instructional assistant, NAMS, effective Dec. 18 for the remainder of the 2018-19 school year, at $10.53 per hour, with benefits
The 2018-19 community education program roster of instructors, stipends and list of anticipated classes for spring 2019
James Sansone and one student to attend PMEA District 10 band festival at Catasauqua High School. The student will attend Jan. 23-25, 2019. Sansone will attend Jan. 23, 2019. The approximate cost is $125, which is included in the district budget.
Ryan Mertz and two students to attend PMEA District 10 orchestra festival at Boyertown Area High School. The students will attend Jan. 9-11, 2019. Mertz will attend Jan. 9-10, 2019. The approximate cost is $477.36, which is included in the district budget.
Adoption of revised policies and attachments, effective Dec. 18: 209-health exams; 610-purchases subject to bid quotation; 626-federal fiscal compliance; and attachments 4 and 5-procurement
A five-year contract with PowerSchool, beginning July 1, 2019, to provide Unified Talent Absence Management at an initial cost of $7,500 and to convert from TalentEd Onboard to Unified Talent Records at an additional cost of $9,000 with 3-percent annual increases for subscription and a one-time fee of $5,250 for implementation support and training
Behavioral support services for a special needs student at Moore Elementary School at a cost not to exceed $40,000, paid from ACCESS funds
Accept, with appreciation, a donation of 23 white and blue lab coats worth $1,000 from a NAMS parent, Meredyth Seibert, for the sixth-grade science department
Revised master active First Student drivers/operators list for the 2018-19 school year

Ashley Gulla, special education 1:1 instructional assistant, Moore Elementary School, effective Nov. 27, at $14.17 per hour, with benefits, paid from ACCESS funds
Contract for special education teacher Susan Gallagher to provide home instruction and school-based special education services not to exceed $28,875
Megan Lieberman, school nurse, NAMS, effective Jan. 18, 2019, at $54,703, prorated, with benefits
Resignation of Bruce Gaston, special education teacher, for retirement, effective June 4, 2019, or last teacher day of 2018-19 school year
