Coplay Public Library: Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from all of us at Coplay Public Library!

***

Start the new year by making the library a new destination - enjoyment and knowledge await you! It’s easy to get a library card or a renewed one, and it’s free. All you will need is your driver’s license or piece of mail with a Coplay address. Any fines from previous membership must be paid first.

Children over age 5 can get their own card if a parent is present.

Your new card or renewal sticker will give you instant access to books, e-books, audiobooks, DVDs, electronic resources and much more. Home-schooled children will especially benefit.

We welcome people from neighboring school districts, too. You need a current card from your home library and a form of ID.

Storytime and crafts with Miss Veronica will resume 11 a.m. Jan. 3, 2019. Plan to start attending this fun-filled hour. Children of all ages are welcome.

You don’t need a library card, and preregistration is not required.

The first game night of the new year will take place 5-7 p.m. Jan. 28, 2019. Play with someone at your skill level or challenge an expert. Scrabble and other game boards will be available for all levels of players.

Thinking of a new game you would like to play? Bring your suggestions to a staff member.

Given an e-reader or tablet for Christmas and want free access to millions of books, audiobooks and magazines? Look on our home page, coplaypubliclibrary.org, for information on Libby (the improved version of Overdrive).

You need a current library card to access Libby’s resources.

Pennsylvania Department of Revenue will no longer be sending tax forms and rent rebate forms to libraries.

The department said, “The cost of printing and mailing paper forms, along with the low rate of return, makes this process unsustainable.”

The department suggests taxpayers access all tax forms at its website, revenue.pa.gov, where you will also find information about filing online. If you don’t have access to a computer or printer but know the forms you need, the library will print blank forms for 25 cents per page.

We accept donations throughout the year for all our book sales. For your safety, drop them off at the circulation desk during open hours, which are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

We do not accept VHS tapes, Reader’s Digest condensed books, encyclopedias, old travel guides or textbooks. Call the library at 610-262-7351 or see our website for donation guidelines.

While we will make every effort to be open during the winter months, your safety and ours are primary concerns. You can check to see if we are open by keeping an eye on the WFMZ StormCenter. We do not charge fines for any days we are closed for weather.

You can also check our Facebook page for weather updates and fun facts.
