Kutztown University
More than 170 Kutztown University students have been inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success as part of the Class of 2018, which graduated in December.
NSLS is the nation’s largest leadership honor society. Students are selected by their college for membership based on either academic standing or leadership potential. Candidacy is a nationally recognized achievement of honorable distinction. With 662 chapters, NSLS currently has 956,712 members nationwide. To be inducted at KU, students must attend an orientation, a three-hour leadership training seminar, three success networking team meetings and three speaker broadcasts featuring leading figures delivering success-related messages to members.

NSLS provides a step-by-step program for members to build their leadership skills through participation at the campus or online. Upon completion of the program, members receive a leadership certificate and take their place among the top student leaders at their campus and across the country. Membership is for life and provides access to benefits including scholarships and awards, exclusive events, employer recruitment through an online job bank, discounts on computers, textbooks, graduate school preparation courses, insurance and much more.

York College
Miranda Miller, of Northampton, graduated from York College of Pennsylvania Dec. 19 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology.
Located in south central Pennsylvania, York College offers more than 50 baccalaureate majors in professional programs, the sciences and humanities to its 4,100 undergraduate students. The college also offers master’s programs in business, education and nursing and a doctorate in nursing practice. A center of affordable academic excellence, York is dedicated to the intellectual, professional and social growth of its students. The college helps them develop a concrete plan to attain academic growth and career success, encourages them to try in the real world what they learn in the classroom and prepares them to be professionals in whatever career they pursue.
Coastal Carolina university
Aja Blount, a communication major from Northampton, was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2018 semester at Coastal Carolina University.
Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, S.C., just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach. CCU offers baccalaureate degrees in 73 major fields of study. Among CCU’s 25 graduate-level programs are 21 master’s degrees, two educational specialist degrees and the Ph.D. in education and marine science: coastal and marine systems science.
