Q. Please provide the names of your family members: parents, siblings and pets.

A. My family consists of my parents, John and Marla, my brother, Jason and my dog, Zoey.

Q. What do you enjoy most about being a senior?

A. One of the most exciting parts of being a senior is the constant wonder of what everyone will do after high school. Seeing the hopes and ambitions of my peers allows me to gain inspiration for my own endeavors while also remembering to take the time to enjoy my last couple of months with my friends who I have known for my entire life before we take the steps to achieve our goals.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. I really enjoy all subjects in school, but if I had to choose a favorite, I would choose history. Throughout my high school career, all of my social studies classes intrigued me, from looking at different perspectives of the same event to debating changes that can happen in the future. Overall, studying history allowed me to dive into topics that I am truly passionate about.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I have been honored to represent Emmaus High School at several out of school events, such as the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference and the Lehigh County Government Youth Day in its inaugural year. During my freshman year, I received a $75 grant from PP&L Company for my work on my PJAS project, a project that took me to the regional and state level competitions. I also have partaken in the National History Day competition, qualifying for both the regional and state levels. This past summer, I became an All-American dancer at the National Dance Alliance camp at Long Island University. Furthermore, I earned the Academic Excellence Award annually from my freshman to my junior year. Additionally, I received the Excellence in Geometry Award and the AP Scholar with Honor Award.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. In my free time, I mainly occupy myself with extracurricular activities. I am part of the EHS Dance Team, Principal’s Advisory Board, Hornet Ambassadors, History Day Club, Model Congress Club, Spanish Honor Society, Pennsylvania Math League Club and Key Club. I also am the current secretary of National Honor Society, and I have previously served the school as both a freshman mentor and as a homeroom representative.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. After high school, I intend on enrolling in a college for a major in business administration with a pre-law advisory program.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. My biggest challenge was learning how to step out of my comfort zone as a student. Trying something new can be daunting, especially when you are unsure what the outcome of the situation would be. However, after overcoming this fear of trying something new, I was able to join many new clubs and try higher-level classes that added depth to my overall experience in high school.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. Being positive can help someone get through a hard time or just make everyone’s day better; it can make a person smile or even change their perspective on an idea. For these reasons, I think it would be a great honor to be remembered as someone who always brings positivity to a situation.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire all of my grandparents because they are all supportive of me, my brother and all of my cousins. Growing up with so much support in the entire family has given me something to look up to for the rest of my life.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Always trust your intuition. If you know that you are struggling with a specific lesson in a class, trust your gut and go ask your teacher for help. If you know that you would really enjoy trying out a new club, go to one of the meetings. If you forget to trust your instincts, then you will always regret making the wrong decision or not taking that extra step.
