The Hornet’s Nest is open all week for Christmas shopping. Stop by for Emmaus High School spirit wear for great last minute gifts.

EHS sophomore Hikari Inaoka has made a special origami creation, a Christmas tree, which will be the prize in a silent auction the school library will conduct through Dec. 21. Patrons will complete a slip of paper noting their name, homeroom and bid amount and place their bid in a container at the library circulation desk. The student or faculty/staff member who has made the highest bid by the end of the day Dec. 21 will win the tree and the money will be donated to the Angel Network at EHS.

For holiday shopping, Centered, the EHS pottery shop, will be open for business this week. Stop by Room 520 to see the showcase filled with handmade pottery.

The second annual EHS origami fundraiser benefiting the Angel Network will take place through Dec. 20. A table will be set up between the cafeterias during all four lunch periods. Get your quarters and dollar bills ready because there will be a ton of origami available for purchase. There will be a Christmas tree bidding contest in the library. Put your bid on the Christmas tree that is completely made out of origami cubes. Make sure to submit a bid in the library.

No Place for Hate will host a holiday breakfast Dec. 19 in Room 409.

The Emerging Health Professionals program provides high school seniors with an opportunity to experience a variety of health care careers in a hospital setting and take Penn State science courses for college credit. Students spend three days a week rotating among various departments of a hospital. Students experience these departments throughout the three Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network facilities. Representatives from Lehigh Career and Technical Institute and Penn State University will visit EHS 1 p.m. Dec. 21 to explain the program in detail and supply applications to interested and qualified juniors for the 2019-2020 academic school year. Interested students should stop by the counseling office to register for the presentation.

Student Government Association is hosting a blood drive for the Miller-Keystone Blood Center 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 8, 2019. If you would like to donate, please email Mrs. Montero or stop by Room 537 to schedule a donation time.

Mud Club meets every Tuesday in Room 520 after school.
