A tractor-trailer combo traveling northbound on Route 309 rolled on its side 9:30 a.m. Dec. 5 as it entered the Tilghman Street West exit, South Whitehall Township.
The truck driver was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
No report on the driver’s condition was available.
Cetronia Ambulance Corps, South Whitehall Police, and Cetronia, Greenawalds and Woodlawn fire departments responded and were able to quickly extricate the driver from the big rig.
Fuel oil spilled onto the ramp from a ruptured fuel tank.
Quick action by firefighters kept the fuel from escaping from the ramp.
Hauser Trucking Company, South Whitehall, had heavy lift wreckers on scene to upright the tractor-trailer combo.
