Coplay: Model railroad displayed

The public is invited to view the holiday model railroad display, built by Explorer Scouts of Model Railroad Explorer Post 101, on display in room 201 at Coplay Borough Hall, 98 S. Fourth St.

The display is available for viewing noon-4 p.m. Dec. 22, 23, 29 and 30 and Jan. 5 and 6, 2019, or 6-9 p.m. Dec. 27 and Jan. 3, 2019.

Borough hall will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 for the Christmas holiday.

Garbage collection will move to Dec. 26 and 27. Recycled materials will be picked up Dec. 27.

Coplay Public Library will be closed Dec. 24 and 25. Regular operating hours will resume Dec. 26.

The borough office will compile a list of property owners who are requesting assistance in clearing off their sidewalks after a snowfall. The borough will also compile a list of youths looking to help shovel and clean the walks. To be included on either list, call the borough office at 610-262-6088.

Coplay Fire Department is reminding residents to clear snow away from fire hydrants in the event of a snowfall. This will save the firefighters time when responding to an emergency.

Residents are praising the holiday street decorations in the borough. These decorations have been a project of a citizens group with residents providing the donations. There are illuminated snowflakes, angels and more.

Keep an eye out for these decorations as you travel through the borough.
