BAVTS is proud to once again participate in this outreach to help our neighbors.

BAVTS Health Careers instructor Jenifer Stilgenbauer was recently honored as the recipient of Teacher of the Year in a ceremony in Dallas, Texas. The award is the “Carl J. Schaefer Memorial Award.”

Dr. Carl J. Schaefer was a lifelong champion in career and technical education (CTE). He gained national recognition as a CTE educator and author and was one of NOCTI’s (National Occupational Competency Testing Institute) founding fathers. To honor Dr. Schaefer, NOCTI sponsors the “Carl J. Schaefer Memorial Award” as a tribute to Schaefer’s memory and to recognize an outstanding CTE teacher or CTE teacher candidate.

Stilgenbauer employs a dynamic, rigorous teaching style with her students, many of whom are training to become health care professionals. Congratulations on your award, Mrs. Stilgenbauer. BAVTS is proud of you.

Eighty-seven BAVTS students advanced from their local school SkillsUSA competitions and will participate at the district level. The district competition will be held Jan. 30 at Agricultural Hall and Best Western in Allentown. The theme of this year’s district competition is “Champions at Work-Career Ready Starts Here.”
