8 DAYS A WEEK:
Ronettes’ Christmas: Ronnie Spector’s “Best Christmas Party Ever,” 7:30 p.m. Dec. 12 is a raucous, rocking, and intoxicating blend of her Christmas classics, Ronettes’ hits including “Be My Baby” (named by Billboard magazine as the No. 1 Greatest Girl Group Song of All Time), “Walking In The Rain,” “Baby I Love You,” plus a splash of doo-wop and Spector’s inimitable off-the-cuff commentary. As The New York Daily News stated, “Go and experience the ultimate sonic stocking stuffer!” The New York Times raved: “It’s hard to think of a more appealing angel to welcome the season than Ms. Spector.” For three decades, Spector’s Christmas show has been a cherished holiday tradition, with her definitive renditions of “Frosty the Snowman,” “Sleigh Ride” and “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus.” Tickets: ArtsQuest box office, ArtsQuest Center, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem; steelstacks.org; 610-332-1300

Leonhardt jazz Christmas: The David Leonhardt Jazz Group presents “A Winter Holiday Jazz Concert,” 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14, in the “Jazz Upstairs” series, Rodale Community Room, Miller Symphony Hall, Allentown. Holiday classics with a jazz beat provide swinging takes from Leonhardt’s CD, “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.” The internationally-acclaimed jazz group will have fingers snapping and toes tapping in a winter concert of cool jazz and hot rhythms. “The former David ‘Fathead’ Newman Quintet pianist David Leonhardt and his swinging friends, perform X-Mas evergreens with an engaging spirit and an abundance of musical intelligence. The makeover of ‘We Three Kings’ is particularly fresh, and the dramatic focus on ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ is as impressive as a prize ornament on the tree.” states Frank-John Hadley in DownBeat Magazine.
