STUDENT OF THE WEEK

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My mother’s name is Julie Knode. My father’s name is Galen Knode. My brother’s name is Ben Knode.

Q. What do you most enjoy about being a senior?

A. I like the fact that I am getting close to graduating high school and going off to college.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. My favorite class is computer science because I enjoy coding (including competitively) and programming computers to perform tasks for me.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I received academic awards in sophomore and junior years. I have been on high placing teams in ACSL including winning first place at the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit recently. I am a member of National Honor Society and German National Honor Society.

Q. Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A. I am in robotics, ACSL club, and Sinfonia and chamber orchestra for cello. I volunteer for the Manito Life Center. I enjoy horseback riding and bowling league.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I want to go to college for electrical and computer engineering.

Q. What do you consider your biggest challenge to date?

A. Getting through junior year was challenging due to taking several advanced placement classes and therefore getting a much larger workload than I was used to.

Q. For what would you like to be remembered?

A. I would like to be remembered for making advances in artificial intelligence.

Q. Whom do you admire? Why?

A. I admire Elon Musk because when he decides he wants to do something he makes it happen.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Work hard and push yourself.
