Junior League of the Lehigh Valley Inc. will award two nonrenewable $1,000 scholarships. Applications must be submitted by Dec. 14.
The first scholarship seeks to award a graduating female high school senior who resides in Lehigh or Northampton counties. The candidate must be a first-generation college attendee and pursuing a career in one of the STEM disciplines.
The second scholarship is open to all graduating female high school seniors who reside in Lehigh or Northampton counties. The candidate must be pursuing a career in one of the STEM disciplines.
To apply, submit an application, transcript and letter of recommendation to pe@jllvpa.org by Dec. 14. To receive an application, email pe@jllvpa.org or visit jllvpa.org/jllv-scholarship. Applications can be submitted online, but all other supplemental materials must be emailed to pe@jllvpa.org.
Finalists will be invited to a panel interview in February or March 2019. Awarding is contingent upon official proof of acceptance to a two- or four-year degree program in a STEM field. Funds will be distributed directly to the institution.
JLLV is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior Leagues are charitable nonprofit organizations of women, developed as civic leaders, making a demonstrable impact on their communities. JLLV currently focuses on the community-based issue of educational disparity and food insecurity within the lower income communities of the Valley.
