Robert L. Strohl, 83, of North Catasauqua, died Nov. 25, 2018, at home. He was the husband of Jean R. (Hutnick) Strohl for 58 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late George E. and Hannah E. (Dilliard) Strohl.

He was in the U.S. Army.

He was a foreman at the former Bethlehem Fabricators for many years.

He was a member of St. John Fisher Church, North Catasauqua.

He was a member of the Macungie Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9264.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David A. and his companion Sandy Youngelman and Joseph M.; a daughter, Dr. Suzanne V. and her fiance Eugene F. Downey; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Sam, Charlie and Molly; and five sisters, Emma Hartzell, Nancy Birosik, Shirley Eberhardt, Fern Pletchen and Janet Hagenbach.

He was predeceased by a son, Samuel M. Strohl; and three brothers, George, Carl and Erwin.
