Whitehall TOWNSHIP
Just before 5 p.m. Dec. 3, Whitehall police responded to a report of a suspicious package at Kohl’s, 2010 Whitehall Mall.
According to Whitehall Township Police Lt. Greg Bealer, shoppers reported an unattended luggage bag close to the front doors of the Kohl’s exterior doors.
Upon arrival, officers found the luggage and had Kohl’s personnel review the security footage. A vehicle was seen parking in the lot, well away from the store. A male was observed carrying the bag up to the area of the front doors, walking back to his car and leaving, Bealer said.
Allentown Fire Department’s bomb squad was called as a precaution, and after examining the bag, the squad determined the luggage was empty.
Also assisting at the scene were Whitehall Fire Department and Whitehall Emergency Management.
