Dear Editor:
I appreciate the coverage of Bacchanalia in your 11/28/18 edition by Tracy Rice. I have some clarifications if you could please print them in your next edition with the Fountain Hill coverage.
The Bacchanalia committee raised $11,500 at their annual event in 2018.
$2500 was donated to the Fountain Hill Little League
$9000 was donated to the Borough of Fountain Hill:
$4500 to the Recreational Improvement Fund
$4500 to the Lechauweki Restoration Fund
Our next event Bacchanalia XVI will be held on 4/6/2019.
We have identified an even greater need in our community, so we have refocused our vision for 2019 to assist the children of Fountain Hill who need us the most. Our main fundraising goal will be to support the food insecure children at Fountain Hill ES by donating funds raised at Bacchanalia XVI to the Fountain Hill Elementary Community School Backpack Buddies Program.
This program sends a backpack of food home with children every week to make sure that they have nutritious meals at home and are not hungry over the weekends. The program served 31 children and their families in the 2017-18 school year. There are currently 23 registered children and families, with the goal of reaching 30 for the 2018-19 school year.
Again, thank you for the coverage and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions and/or additional clarifications.
Sincerely-
Angela Sinkler
Fountain Hill Bacchanalia Committee
